Randal and I along with the rest of the AIRPS organization are looking forward to another great public no charge event at the former race track complex that is being developed into Diamond Lakes Regional Park.

John Engel's 1997 Viper GTS

The Dodge Viper or the Chevrolet Corvette, which one is better? It’s a debate that’s been going on since the Viper’s inception in the early 1990s. When the Viper came out, it was faster. Heck, it even had it’s own television show. What better way to bring in a new model? And with the pickup of the new Knight Rider series, it seems like that’s the same formula Ford is hoping will boost it’s sales. But back to the Viper/Corvette The Corvette just couldn’t compete with the V10 engine. But nowadays, it’s anybody’s guess as to which one is faster? Of course, when it’s all said and done it’s all about which one do you like more? And for John the answer is, the Dodge Viper.

Now this is not the first Viper John’s been the proud owner of. Those who know him will remember his Red GTS Coupe. But when he found this blue and white GTS for sale, he just had to have it. Of course, part of the reason is because the blue with white racing stripe color scheme is a rare find.

So here we are, taking a look at this beautiful machine. An 8-liter V10 engine, putting out around 450 horsepower, and it looks good going fast. Of course, with John’s HRE 547 wheels wrapped in Pirelli rubber, it looks good sitting too. Now unlike another C.S.R.A. Viper owner, John hasn’t gone crazy with the modifications. A Roe Racing intake moves the air into the engine, where it flows out of a Corsa 3-inch Hi Flow exhaust.

Alright, even talk… it’s time to enjoy the pictures. After all, would you rather read about a Viper, or look at a Viper? I thought so. =0)
